In life we indulge ourselves with a possibility of infinity, until danger presents itself and stares in to our faces. Perhaps it’s Time; perhaps Chance. Regardless, our cocooned existence is shattered and we are left to face death. No one ever knows when, but we all fear it.
A week ago I went on a short ski trip with my daughter. After driving for nine and a half hours we finely reached our destination. We were looking forward to a nice long relaxing bath and a good night’s sleep before hitting the slops on the following morning. It was while imagining this moment of peace when my car hit the ice patch on the road and started skidding. We made a few circles and were thrown of the road right into the snow bank at a 45-degree angle. At that moment I realized, I was not in control! None of us are!
What do we do at such time? We panic! The fear of death blinds the mind diminishing all other feelings. Its power, by far, lies deeper then we ever tend to think, or imagine.
So, what do we do to de-hypnotize ourselves from its power?
The answer lies in harmony of Body, Mind and Spirit.
Why harmony? Because only a power of Harmony and not some external gratification, can present us with clear mind to deal with our fears and that is of the utmost importance to our acceptance of death.
To reach such harmony we need guidance. The right music boosts and enhances us through our day and allows us to endure joy as it emits from our newfound balance and harmony. My spiritual teacher’s music, for example, is his gift to us, his gift of sustained happiness envisaged through his practices in connection with the Soul.
